Thanks for the link and the information about the nursery, Diana. It sounds like a nice one to visit in person and on-line. I enjoyed reading the newsletter and reading about parsley which I planted last month. That recipe for the ambrosia sounds very refreshing and delicious! Nice photos too. Jen

I can only agree with what y'all are saying. I absolutely love the Farmers Market and buy most of my plants from there - at least the ones I don't start from seed and Tony's place - well - that is just another horticultural treat. My very first introduction to PDN was a private tour as a Master gardener. There were 7 of us on the tour and Tony took us over every inch of the place. I was in HEAVEN. I have been back many times since and never come away empty handed..... Lynne

Plants I've purchased from PDN were very large - big enough to divide immediately (and I did, as a friend and I share lots of our purchases). However, I live close, so I've only purchased in person at Open House. I've been told those are the exact same plants they ship. Obviously, very new offerings won't be as large. Jay... Where is there racism and sexism on the cover? I don't see it. That's the point of this kind of trolling. There's "just enough" there for some people to perceive its presence and other people not to. It's kind of a stupid drawing, that makes me wonder why they bothered doing something like that. You aren't any of those things. Perhaps this should have been posted in hot topics where it belongs. Isn't this the perennials forum? I still don't see anything offensive to anyone, so if someone could prove it. I'm offended by stupid, ok? ;-) If this thread was posted in a perennial group at facebook it would have not been allowed. They have administrators to keep an eye on things. I'm actually incredibly glad this is not a ridiculously over-moderated forum like some of them are I have experienced in the past. (not plant related...in the case I'm thinking, it was a 'mode of transport' related one) Some of them are like the "Home Owners Associations" of the internet. Picking on the tiniest things as unacceptable and often in biased ways, too. Old friends of the admins getting away with stuff the rest of the punters can't. Petty fiefdoms. This has nothing to do with plants and is just causing hard feelings. Exactly!!! The presence of political figures on the cover and the way they are depicted (be it insensitive or not) has NOTHING TO DO WITH PLANTS. So I think that the owner of one of the country's supposed leading 'rare plant' nurseries feeling it is incumbent upon him to potentially cause 'hard feelings' IS a topic worthy of discussion here!
