Pruning Weird Branch Angle On Autumn Blaze

I have an Autumn Blaze maple that has been in the ground almost 3 years. It's doing great-probably more than tripled in size since it's been planted. It's about 30 feet tall.

I've been carefully pruning to shape. I had someone from the local shade tree commission look at it last year and he gave me some advice on shaping/pruning.

The problem is that one of the lower branches is growing at a weird angle. It looks as if it is being weighted down. It is also a bit longer than the branches across from and next to it. This branch sticks out like a sore thumb!

Should I prune the tip off this branch? Should I prune some of the smaller branches coming off this branch?

I can post a photo if necessary. I'll have to take it first, of course!

Thanks for any help.

Jo
