Ellen google up Weatherbug that may give you exactly what you want.

I use weatherunderground. They have a feature which allows local weather nuts to upload their own data, from their own home weather stations. I found on less than a mile away, and the same distance from the bay. His weather is almost identical to mine, and his data is available in 5-minute increments, in both graphic and tabular format.

Temperature, dew point, pressure, wind direction and speed, wind gust, humidity and hourly rainfall rate, can all be downloaded in CSV values.

They call them Personal Weather Stations. Maybe you'll find one as close to you.

Ellen, this "AccuWeather" site only goes back 6 hours for hourly temps.

On upper left side just enter your city with NJ and you'll get precise temps for your town.

weather.com (aka: The Weather Channel) has yesterday's weather.

You can use the National Weather Services site. www.nws.noaa.gov. You can put in your city and it will have a 3 day history (hourly, sometimes more depending on if there is weather they are monitoring) as of the closest airport. They also have local COOP observers, but that data can be a little bit harder to get ahold of. I would be wary of using just anybody's backyard data. If the equipment is not calibrated right, or if they are reading the instruments wrong, you could get some really strange data. I probably could answer any questions you have.

Weather underground will give you this info. Do this:
On the page that comes up for your zip code, go down down down the screen. You'll get to the part that lists individual local weather stations. Like Donn said, there may be a location really close to you, or similar distance from water.

Now, click on that station name. Now you'll get a page with weather history of that station. Go down the page until you see the graphs. It's a little hard to know the exact temperature from the graph, which is one thing I wish they'd alter. But, close to 32 is about the same as being there, since frost can occur a little above 32, anyway!

Some weather stations on W.Underground also have their own page, hosted by the maker of the weather equipment I think. (Under the map that shows the station location, you will see a link to visit its page) You may be able to read recent temps there more easily. Look at this page and see how yesterday's temps are easier to see.

A caveat: some people's equipment is not situated to get a good reading on temp, rainfall, humidity etc. So, compare their temps with your own thermometer and keep that in mind.

riotbliss- THANK YOU! That was the site that was posted here previously, and had the frost advisories page by county. I could never remember what site had it the way I liked it.

The best site may depend upon where you live. I use a NOAA site as I find the more commercial sites tend to pander to the largest audience and the NOAA site reports on a small military base nearby which is in a more rural location.

To find a good website go to NOAA and put in zip-codes of nearby airports and military facilities and broadcast facilities and compare these results to what you feel you are observing in you yard or garden.

We also use the NOAA website and have a shortcut on our desktop. DH is weather obsessed and has gotten me into the habit of checking the weather site first thing every morning and last thing at night. You can also watch the radar to see where the storms are moving in your area.

"Zone 4a is experiencing a drought. Get those containers in a pan of water"

"Zone 5b is experiencing a deluge. Be sure your containers are drainig."

Oh I would love such a channel. I would have it on all day, I would hear the green wave spreading, then as the season progresses I would hear reports of growth everywhere.

Ummm, don't get me wrong this web site is gorgeous and wonderful. I bet someday WS'ing will be so big we WILL have the WS'ing Channel.
