Beth, you are so right--should have done apricot and orange separately. But since I grow almost none of either one, how was I to know you folks had gone a bit nuts over apricot and orange. I didn't even know there were that many oranges and apricots! (You folks must have "loud" gardens--ha!) Think we are headed for Orange/Apricot, Part II, don't you? Well, let me pick out a few of my favorites upthread. Cheshire and South Africa are lovely--I like golden tones, with some apricot highlights. Honey Perfume belongs in there too. Eureka falls into that golden category also, Beth--and Marilyn Monroe is lovely in her own way also. Don't know quite what to say about a rose like Hot Romance however--it is a gorgeous rose, but I can't imagine it in my garden. Same with Granada and Dolly Parton and Playboy--absolutely breaktaking--but don't they dominate everything within 20 ft? Pat Austin too. I mean like, Wow!! aren't they just too, too stunning? I guess I incline more to roses like Cherish or The CoxSwain. Tammy, that sure is a nice photo of Memerized. Guess I'm going to have to work on my orange appreciation! I built a compost bin nearby with builder's block from my FIL's old milk house built in 1929. We have a bunch more to collect from eastern Idaho. Lined it with a some newspaper, then a wet phone book someone threw into our trash can next to our shop doors and also a bag full of apples! Must have been my eldest son or my hubby. I couldn't believe my find. My 12 year old saves the phone books for his BSA camp outs. Good to start a fire with LOL So I guess he missed out on this one. WE get extra phone books from our neighbors who passes them out in the fall. One thing my son did was have the nerve to take one of the blocks from my compost bin to place under his snowmobile trailer's tongue when he got back. I did go out later at night to get the dog food bag and some more newspaper. Then in the morning, I could have gotten more newspaper, but didn't dare. I think the recycle people would be disappointed. Now I'm just going to ask her if I can collect her used paper. The dog food bag was a bust. I wasn't expecting such service. They said they would just dump them anyway. So, I scored big time in the goal of getting other people's mulch and having it delivered. Where is that thread anyway?! I told them they can dump more of their grasses. They weren't done with this big subdivision and they also mow the shared grassy area and little parks. So I told them feel free to dump the grass too! When the grass gets long enough to mow. Plus I got the main guy's card to have him do some pruning and other stuff for me. I think the crew was amazed that this blonde haired lady, driving a ford clubwagon was willing to load it up with all the tall grasses! Let alone talk to them, as some people in this manicured area probably wouldn't bother speaking to them. Hi roseangelyn - Your petals are more pointed and I would love to see more pics of this rose if you have any to post! This rose isn't easily available anymore. In fact, I sent a cutting to Burling Leong who is theoretically producing more but I haven't seen it on her list of miniatures. It might be a "waiting list" only rose. My rose has been quite variable and also has pointed petals at times. Here are some prior year pics. This is the very first bloom I got after receiving the plant. The color is so much darker than what I've had since then. First spring in the ground. Typically my PP's color ranges from this shade to the lighter shade in my prior photos.
