So, do you use many tropicals in the garden?

Since it's almost time to think about what you're going to save or not, I thought this might be a good time to ask the question.

I've gone through the dahlia phase, the canna phase, and a whole lot of other phases in regards to plants I have to take inside for the winter if I want to keep them. I think I'm pretty comfortable saying my Colocasia, Alocasia, etc. phase is sticking. For those of you not familiar with those names, think "elephant ear" type plants, although that's a pretty disliked name amongst those who grow these plants.

Some of these can be an absolute pain in the rear to over winter in my climate, but it's worth it to me. I love using these in large pots all over the garden. Since most of them come into their prime late in the season as the garden is starting to show its wear, they're fun and dramatic to have around.

I have a 3 Brugmansia too, but I doubt I'll ever have more than that. Carting those massive things into the basement is something I do not look forward to.
