Haven't seen one personally but there is a company called Transform Compost Systems in B.C. Canada that has a scalable system. Next time If I ever get out there, I'm going to stop in and talk to them. They also run a compost facility operators course I'd love to sit in on.

While not a windrow system, NaturTech has a scalable, containerized system that is also intriguing.

But no matter what system is used they inevitably lead to lotsa $$ to set up.

Contrary to what many people will try to tell you composting is very simple and all one neds to do is pile up the material to be composted in roughly the right amounts and it will become compost. There is no real good reason to spend large amounts of your money on a "system" or equipment to make compost.

I was really referring more to commercial systems . When I see landfills, or mountains pumping out methane that is burned from stacks it still infuriates me. I have been to many week long, large scale composting classes, visited 3 to 4 hundred acre sites around the country and testified in various hearings re large scale composting. My thought, with the billions of tons of organic waste being buried every day, there is NO reason why superior, totally safe compost could not be available to EVERYONE virtually free and in huge amounts. What prevents this is the huge vested interest groups, politicians, money interest, unions, and corporations that make billions burying waste...and industrial pollutants in barrels beneath that waste. Imagine if all you gardeners who need compost could get all they want for home community and city gardens. THEN, there would be far less hunger and more jobs. Maybe getting radical here, but if we could prevent ground water pollution, methane, the contamination of lakes and rivers, and even remediate spills with applied large scale composting ...why not pursue that? Today, we have technologies and systems for good...why not cut through the corruption and greed and do that? With scalable systems, many in need of food could contribute and benefit. It just would take the awareness and will to do so. Just think of the billions of tons of organic waste that get buried or otherwise wasted every single day.

It would probly be very helpful have a system or even a franchise the bring to the board meeting rather than trying to figure out every thing them selfs

One thing that really gets me is people burning leaves not only in town but people that have hundreds of acres they could just dump them on arrg(:

I live in rural small town Minnesota the problem here isn't knowledge or land the problem is budget. That is why people like me compost and garden. Do what you can let others do what they Can. Our small county seat city does a good job with what they have.
