First Class Program

Hello everyone,

I was browsing through some old posts here today and found one that talked about a data base program called First Class. It sounded very interesting, but when I followed the link it talked about running windows 98 and such. My husband just upgraded my computer to windows 7 and so I am wondering if this older program will still run on it. Has anyone had any experience with running it on windows 7?

It runs on Vista OK. But to be sure about Windows 7 -I would recommend you to send and email to the support - it will be Joe Bruns - and he will clear it out for you.
Lately the program was upgraded and so many yummy new pics were loaded - it is a pleasure to work with it.

I agree with Irina's statement about FC2. It is a pleasure to work with especially if you show your plants. Not only is it helpful for checking descriptions but it prints out labels with or without photos. I remember when I used it for the first time and printed labels with pictures to put on bags of leaves that were going to be sold at the show. Out of all the leaves on the table, the ones I brought with pictures were the first to go. Since then almost everyone uses it when they bag leaves or even small plantlets that have no bloom on them.

brown tips on skylands.. frankly.. sounds typical ... i would bet on winter damage prior to harvest ... increased by harvest.. increased by it hates me ... and now you ... life is in the buds.. ignore EVERYTHING else ... whats your plan with them.. the first understock has budded out... greenhouse got too warm.. i dont think they can go outside.. but i would want to keep them as cold/cool as possible w/o frost or freeze ..... since it might be a month or two.. before they can go outside ... attached garage???? wouldnt happen to have an unheated florida-type room.. do you??? just not in the house .... IMHO... unless you have a root cellar???? ken

OA, pretty cool, the only thing to change is the size of the cells. If you go to the top, and put your curser on one of the lines at the edge of the cell, and drag the curser, it will enlarge the cell so the words don't overflow into the next cell, plus if you have a more wordy description it will now fit. I am glad you knew how to do an attachment of the excel like this, I could not figure out how to "show" it to you all. thanks! PS, the excel in the example that I use is just a guide line for me, you can adjust it to your own personal needs.

Yes, about nutrition, she recommends the "plate method", divide a 9" plate in half. One half is to be vegetables, like salad, or low carb vegetables. Divide the other side into half (fourths). One fourth lean protein and the other fourth grain or carb. She said, with three meals divided like this, and 2 small snacks a day, it would provide about 1200 calories, without too much of any one thing. She also said exercise, exercise, did I mention exercise. The most important thing to help control pre- and diabetes is exercise, and lots of water. Dehydration is very hard on a diabetic. It really was a very informative class. She is a RN, diabetic specialist, and dietician. Yes, my doctor did say to limit the diet to 12 weeks, at which time I go back to recheck my numbers. The nutritionist said 12 weeks is entirely too long, so she will call the doctor and voice her concerns and will follow up with me once she does. Today my blood pressure was down to 88/57, which she thought was too low also. She is going to mention that to the doctor when she calls. She said it may be why I don't have much energy and feel sluggish. I hadn't even thought to check BP. Just a little recap, BG is under 100 (last 3 checks), BP is way lower than it was, weight is down exactly .2. Yes, that is correct point 2 in a little over 3 weeks. About the monitor and strips, my insurance covered mine with the pre- diagnosis, but I still had a copay of $30 for 100 strips, $25 for the meter. Walmart carries a brand ReliOn which sells for less than $20 and strips for it is less than $10 for 50. It would have been cheaper for me to buy those without insurance than the one I got with insurance.

Our mail service has already been changed. The postman used to come no later than 4 or five- now it might be almost 7 before he gets here. I guess he had to take over a partial route from someone else in addition to his regular one. The drop box near here was always picked up by one. I put some things in it at 3 yesterday and it was full to almost running over. Anyone could have reached into it and gotten a hand full of mail. I did put mine in but I pushed everything down so that it couldn't bee seen from the outside.

I bought a leaf for an AV called Green Eyes. It had no description and no picture. Is this one by chance in FC2?

Thank you Irina, I sent an email. I hope it works, it sounds like fun.

Fred, I don't think I will be ready to start showing anytime soon, but I have been thinking about how I might label my little leaf pots and such, other then writing on them if they aren't solo cups. It looks like it would be neat for labeling leaves and such someday when I have something I can trade with others as well.

Boy it's an old one isn't it! That's the year I was born! haha. Sounds kinda pretty though. I'll find out if it roots and produces plantlets in time.
I may need to ask for FC2 for Christmas. My hubby never knows what to get me. At least this would be the right color and size! haha.,,,Debbie

In case anyone eles is wondering also. I emailed them and recieved the following reply.
All reports so far (more than a dozen) indicate that there is no incompatibility with Windows 7. It has been out long enough now that I probably would have heard any negative reports.
