Angel, Where you live gardenias may not be hard to care for. They grow like weeds here in North East Texas, and we aren't too far from you. Look around, see if they are in people's gardens. Or ask someone in a garden center. Banana shrubs, ie Michelia figo, are really easy to care for. Just plant them in the shade and forget about them. Sweet olives should grow very well for you. Plant them somewhere where there is at least a half a day of sun. There are some roses that are extremely fragrant and will bloom most of the year down there. Ask on the Antique Rose forum for advice on which ones will be easy to care for and smell the best. There are a few people over there who are in South Louisiana. Sambac jasmine should do well for you. You could keep it in a pot or plant it. Night blooming jasmine has the strongest fragrance of all. I've seen it growing in New Orleans in gardens that didn't look like they were cared for. I don't know exactly where you are in South Louisiana, but I used to live in Baton Rouge and then Thibodeaux, and plants grew very well even though it rained a lot and often flooded. You are very lucky to live in an area where all of these fragrant plants will live over winter. Most everyone on this forum has to grow them in pots and put them in a greenhouse. And I guess you could grow yours in pots, too, but they would grow so much better in the ground. Hope this helps, Carrie

I don't have feet on my cabinets but as a suggestion google buffets/hutches/hoosiers and look at those feet and the styles of them. Just my opinion, keep in mind that kitchen cabinets are big pieces of furniture and I always think it looks silly when the feet look too delicate - sort of like ballet feet. I like them when they are in proportion to the weightiness of the cabinets. JMHO.

Hi rsslp, I would be really frustrated and a little mad about the end panels. Bells and Whistles are end panels IMHO. This issue is more than just the end panels. No one likes unexpected expenses. Do you believe it was an honest mistake? Or is your gut telling you that he is taking advantage of you? If this were me, I would really think about it. When I get upset it is always a sign that someone might be taking advantage of me. Your anger may be a warning sign. The fact you posted about this means there may be something not right. You can confront him and see how he responds. Does he take some ownership of this or pass it on. Trust is a big thing with me. If someone is working for me they have to earn my trust and can loose it quickly if they take advantage of me. A kitchen is a long journey. You want to be sure this KD is the one who is going to be fair, honest, hardworking and trustworthy not just about future endpanels but everything. And there will be bigger issues. frist off as most of the posters said the ex will always be in the picture one way or another when theres children invoiled,second I am sure the sd and the ex knew what they were doing and did so to make you unconfortable, its normal for sc to talk about there other parent but not like that, that was rude! and to invite only the father on vacation that was also rude, better think long and hard about marrying this man, if he ingores your feeling now and thinks your the one with the problem! theres been alot of opinions to this post, and one that readly brothers me why doesnt the second wife or the third deserve the same respect from there husband as the frist, your husband or wife should be frist! I doult anyone would expect different if you were the frist wife, thats probley why there are so many second divorces, yes your childrens feeling and what they need are very imporant and no one should treat your children mean or be rude to them, most sc have this dream that there parents will get back together and wouldnt accept anyone in there parents life and would do what ever to run them off, sounds like what your sd and her mother was trying to do, if your fiance is sticking his head in the sand now be prepared for a whole lot more, I have a husband like that and it has been the same with mandy things, I have been second to what ever his children want and alot of times third to the ex, mind you my husband is a very good man, one holiday dinner comes to mind I will never forget, my sc was suppose to be picked up by there mother, while talking on the phone to her my sd got off and said her mom was mad at her and said her father could just bring them home latter, we set down to eat our family dinner with my children and now his also, the ex calls and says tell your dad to bring you here now, guess what he jumped up to take them,I said yes ! you better run real quick, our dinner was ruined for me I had spent all day cooking and it to her five seconds to ruine it. like one of the posters said frist marriges are hard but second can be impossible expectily if they keep there head in the sand. good luck to you
