follow-up to my bog garden question

Hi again!

Well, thanks to all the great suggestions for plants for my friend's wet yard, we are researching and selecting plants and drawing up plans.

But I have another question. When exactly is the best time to plant in an area like this? I've always heard never to disturb the soil when it's wet, but.... um, this soil is always wet! Should I just ignore this conventional wisdom when it comes to this type of garden?

I prefer to plant in the spring (I seem to have better luck with survival rates then) but I keep thinking it will be wetter here in spring than in autumn. Goodness, now that I am thinking of the actual planting, I'm not sure I'm looking forward to this. I better get some hip waders to plant this garden, lol!

Any suggestions for best time/conditions to plant here?

Thanks!

Dee
