What do you love most about composting?

Personally its the fact that if I get bored, lazy or busy it keeps working right on its own and doesn't die like my plants. Last summer I got all three at once because I was taking a summer Sign Language class, trying to keep in touch with friends and do my AP Bio assignment. I got fed up with my cucumbers wilting (I now know that around here I should plant cucumbers in early fall so the 120 degree weather doesn't kill them. Who knew?) and so I stopped watering and EVERYTHING died. Except for a small patch of allysum, the seeds of which I had planted the previous summer. That is one strong plant. I then added EVERYTHING to my compost pile after it burnt to a crisp for some much needed browns. Anyway the compost pile was perfectly content to just sit and stew while I ignored it. I now have a five gallon bucket full of compost but no sunflowers or cucumbers. (besides the one I recently planted again. I hope it doesn't get too cold for them too fast)

P.S. I'm seventeen
