My recently planted forest pansy redbud has curling leaves on the upper portion also--I figure it was transplant stress during the heat of summer. However, the other ones I've seen around town also have curling leaves. Hope they're okay!

IMO, the redbud looks fine. I can't really tell much on the next one. The apple tree does look like it has some kind of mold/fungus on some of the leaves from all the rain. The tomato plant looks like my miss kim lilac when it gets really hot (like it has been for a few weeks now).

In summary - hopefully someone with more experience will reply :)

I do know my red bud has never looked like this before. It's about five years old.
I have five tomato plants and only that one looks like that! The other four look really great.

Redbud looks like ours does. Happens in wet weather, and mostly likely fungal in origin. Wouldn't worry about it, just clean up and destroy the leaf litter in the fall to remove sources of infect next spring. Don't know about the second one, maybe water stress. Third same as redbud. Tomatoes are VERY sensitive to any kind of environmental adversity. A bit of ammonia from say pet waste is enough to cause that, or any number of other environmental compound, along with white flies, thrips, aphids, etc.

Any herbicides used on the lawn under the trees?

I did spray some dandelions around the red bud! Not around the rest of the stuff, though.

i doubt yours are having any long term affect on an established tree ...

but i might start wondering about you, if they are girls ... lol

lol get them a boot to pee in. It is always more fun trying to hit a target... ahem* for the young boys of course, I have no advice if you have girls.

Any tree that an animal routinely pees on will suffer and decline eventually but that would take years and a lot more pee than most likely provided by your kid(s).

Ok, whew! They are 4 and 5 and yes, boys. Hahahaha! :) I hadn't thought about them killing the tree before this. When they were 2 and potty training I let them do that, so it's my fault. I just figured they'd have stopped by now! It was just supposed to be while they were learning! But if Ken's 9 year old is still doing it, I might have a few years left. Hahaha!
