I would cut it back. My Foxgloves are already cut way back, and I pulled out the real ratty-looking ones. I kept a few smaller seedheads to collect some seed. Some plants will come back for 3rd year, especially if they don't exhaust themselves going to seed, but I start them from seed every year to be sure to have nice blooms in the Spring. Once the tall seedheads get to the end of blooming they don't look good anymore and I would cut them back even earlier if it weren't for the fact that the bumblebees just love the flowers.

Foxgloves have been self-sowing across my garden and numerous beds and are doing fine everywhere except full shade or full sun.

I just bought a camelot rose foxglove plant today and I immediately planted it in a pot in less than an hour. The pot is a little over a foot tall and the plant is almost 3 ft tall. It was beautiful and sturdy. Lots of dark green leave and just starting to bloom. That was around 9 am. I left it with a bunch of my other full sun loving plants outside (all of which are doing fabulously) because it said 6 plus hours. By the time I came home from work at 5:30, the plant was in the shade. It was so droopy and and the leaves lost all shape and the stalks drooped so bad. I did not water it at all since it says to keep the soil moist but not wet. And the potting soil I used to fill the pot was already moist. Please help! I've had this plant less than 24 hours and I'm so worried for it! I've never had a foxglove before

Well, it depends! There are some biennial foxglove. If it is a one year old plant it will bloom, if not it won't until next year. Ask at the nursery to see if they know. Foxy foxglove will probably bloom for you this year. Let it reseed as it is a biennial which can sometimes act as an annual depending on your climate and how early the seed germiniates. Digitalis grandiflora and D. lutea are perennial and generally bloom the 2nd year from seed. Both will reseed nicely for you too. GGG
