Livin Easy is a miracle rose

I was thinking of getting Livin Easy from Lowes last week, but I did not want to pay 24.99. So, yesterday, I looked at Lowe's again, and the roses were all on sale. I could not find Livin Easy. I was mad, because they had three last week. Finally, I found it, in the corner on a shelf in the back. It had been moved to the clearance section of dying plants. The price was now 13.99. I took it home and planted it yesterday afternoon. I also pruned it back, because it had some damage. It may have dropped or burned in the hot weather. I just checked again, and it has put out new growth. I just can't believe it would do this in less then 24 hours, after being transplanted, considering it looked terrible yesterday.

It is a fantastic rose, in my opinion. Glad you were able to rescue it!

Livin' Easy is a great rose. I have had it about 6 or 7 years. Although not of interest to you, it is fairly hardy.

It is very floriferous. It has nice color. It is disease resistant. I have seen it come back up out of the ground after complete dieback after a cold winter, and after not being covered. It is a vigorous rose bush. Hope you enjoy it.

Some other old threads: After reading some older threads, Livin Easy is quite resistance to some strains of Blackspot, but, not to others. So, some areas it will get none to little blackspot and some areas it gets alot of Blackspot. That's lovely! I got Easy Does It last year and loved it. It bloomed like crazy all season and was big and healthy last fall. But it didn't winter. You'll have to let us know how Livin Easy winters for you.

wow cool. In the morning. you can spray it with aerated compost tea. and spray with seaweed foliar feed. as long as the leaves stay dry. It looks really healthy. And you can mix up a batch of fermented alfalfa compost tea to get gangbusters blooms. Hope we can see more pictures.

I had it before I moved and it was a champion bloomer from Spring to Fall.
It is a thorny sucker though, so beware.
All I had to do was walk by it and I was bleeding.
It really is a great Rose.

Well that was all the enableing I need. It is on my list for next year since I was considering it already.

Thanks I do need a vigorous rose, because San Francisco has so much fungal due to the cool damp air, that I need often remove leaves and cut back canes, more often then most other climates such as in the East Bay. By the way, it has grown even more new leaves. It looks like a winner, and not one day of growth was lost due to transplant shock. John Keats spend two months looking dead after transplanting.

I love, love, love Living Easy. Now look for Easy Going. You will love it too. Its a beautiful yellow. Judy

I got this as one of the 4 I ordered from the HD sales and in spite of the rough start (see HD Sale thread), it took off and now has 4 lovely blooms. Pretty color, nice scent.

I ordered a Livin' Easy during the HD sale, but they sent me a Purple Passion by mistake. :>(

Luckily, I found one at a local nursery so it's all good. :>)

Easy Going looks nice. I have seen the photos. I am sure it would make a good companion plant to Livin Easy, but what is HD?

Ok, we have a lot of those. I once got a peace rose for 1.99 bareroot at HD. It was very good, but I gave it away, because it got so much fungal in San Francisco. I am always looking for low fungal roses. It moved to the east bay where it is doing great. But my new dogs digs up bareroot roses, and so now I like bigger potted ones, that are so big and with thorns so he won't be interested in digging them up.

Living Easy does well for me too here in zone 3a. I winter protected it, and it came back vigorously after having almost no viable cane in the spring. It's now about 3 feet tall. I love this rose too!
