Livin Easy or Easy Does It?

I'm having a hard time deciding between these two beauties. Anyone have experience with both? Disease resistance is high on my list of importance, as is repeat blooming. Thanks!

Well, Livin Easy is a really nice rose, but the problem with your question is that Easy Does It is newly released this year, and so no one outside the nursery industry really has any experience with it, other than the AARS test gardens. But one must suppose it did well in them, since it won. Probably both would be fine, but again, it would be tough for anyone on this board to make a head to head comparison of them for you.

You are all too kind with your comments. Memo: Here's a link to some photos of the stick house and other juniperus virginiana (eastern red cedar) structures of my cobbling. The uprights are 18-22 inches in the ground (like setting fence posts) and everything else supports one another with safety wire to keep the joints together. About the moss-growing: I was not about to put clay and lichens in my blender. Mostly I just pour dilute leftover buttermilk over a stone. If there's a really raw place where the bulldozer scraped the stone, or it was marred in transport, I rub some clay over it. (I have this little stash of clay bits that came in with the cotton trash.) I might sprinkle some bits of moss over the wet surface if there's none growing nearby. Watering mosses is done after dark. Peter Loewer has a chapter in his book, 'The Wild Gardener' called 'Janet's Rock' in which he describes the incredible community of life on a bare rock. Some of the stones elsewhere in my garden that I've had for some years have some of that patina. The ones in shade have a wider variety, but even these in the hot sun have lichens and moss on the shadier surfaces. 'Livin' Easy' rose is in it's second year here. I really like it. Nell

It also depends on how hot it is. For example, we are heading into winter now in Australia so blooms like Jude the Obscure will last 3 days. In summer it will blow in one day! Thank goodness it is always in flower. Jude the Obscure On the opposite end Yves Piaget have flowers that open so slowly on the bush it takes a week for a bud to open to that high centered HT shape, and then the flower lasts well for another week or two. Yes, ratdogheads, it is puzzling about Easy Does It and cold hardiness. I noticed it was mentioned that Living Easy was less cold hardy that EDI earlier in this thread, but my EDI is one of my most tender roses, right behind Angel Face, which needs to be replanted more deeply in another spot. I only have about five roses that I consider tender: both my Love Song, Easy Does It, Augusta Luise, Angel Face, and to a lesser degree, Frederic Mistral, and Young Lycidas, which I never protect. So I'm surprised how well your EDI does in your zone 5 garden, ratdogheads. EDI got knocked back last year so badly, with no protection, that it's still smaller than when I first planted out of the pot. Diane

Some other old threads: After reading some older threads, Livin Easy is quite resistance to some strains of Blackspot, but, not to others. So, some areas it will get none to little blackspot and some areas it gets alot of Blackspot.
I'm going to give it a try anyhow.

I have Livin Easy...bought one and liked it so much that I went out and bought another! Here, it is very hot and humid and BS is a big problem in the spring and fall but I have to say that Livin Easy seemed to have above average resistance here. It did get it, but not very bad. Also, both of mine are planted in areas where the drainage is not very good and they are doing just fine.

I love Livin Easy and Easy Going and am going to have to try Easy Does It (I'm trying desperately to keep the names straight!)
