Charmian, Another Undervalued Old Austin?

I received this rose in December 2009 own-root from Vintage and promptly planted it in a spot that was too shady for it. We're talking zero growth here. I transplanted her less than a year ago to a more "favorable" spot, also somewhat shady, in close competition with a large ficus tree. She is now blooming and putting on new growth. HMF says the rose is susceptible to mildew and black spot. This rose has none even though rust, mildew and black spot have reared their ugly heads elsewhere among the roses in this cool, moist year. The fragrance is really lovely and old rose, and the flowers are a pretty deep pink and shapely. Clair Martin states this is one of the true climbers in the Austin stable but I'm hoping the root competition from the ficus will thwart that tendency somewhat.

Does anyone else grow this 1982 Austin and what do you think of it? I'm beginning to like it quite a bit.
