1st show 3 days away

I joined a local club late in the fall and had no idea until this week that we'd have to enter a plant in the upcoming show this weekend. So I took a good look at what was currently blooming and selected a couple of semi-minis to show. Of course I had no idea until tonight that I should have been preparing the plants for this for months. One plant is in a yucky pot but I'm very afraid to repot it so close to the show. It's in a pot that will not allow me to slip another pot over it. Can I place the whole pot in a decorative pot for showing or is that too distracting to the judges?

I've signed up to be a clerk thinking that I'll learn a lot from the judges. Will they handle the plant to inspect it closely? How much time do they spend judging each entry?

Next year I vow to begin preparing earlier for the local show.

Fingers crossed and very nervous -

Donna
