I begged him not too...But he did!!!

A couple of months ago my DH brought home so many milk jugs.

I was so over whelmed after prepping them I made him promise, no matter what I say, or how much I beg, do NOT bring me home anymore jugs.

I went on to say that there is no way I'll be able to plant all these out, so DON'T indulge in my madness. I'm obviously sick,OK?

He just laughed in agreement. Well, long story short, I ran out of milk jugs.

Yesterday, I saw him gathering the recyclables and asked (all innocent like) "hey, are to going to to recycling center tomorrow?, can you grab me some more milk jugs?" And he said "sure".

Just goes to show you ladies, you can't trust you own Husbands to keep their promises.

Am I lucky or what?!

I have the grand champion enabler in my neighbor. He thinks it's hilarious how many WS containers I've got labeled and lined up three deep on both sides of my breezeway. He goes to the recycle bin at the dump every Monday and if I ask, he'll fill the bed of my pick-up inside the garage. He's filled it three times so far. His wife went with him one day and was coaching from the sidelines, telling him to go for the spring water jugs because they're cleaner!! He knows now to only bring me the translucent jugs and leave the opaque white ones.
Maybe when planting out time comes he'll take pity on me and use his tractor to cultivate some new flowerbeds, the post-hole digger to dig planting holes, etc. Should be an interesting spring!

I could have used a neighbor like that yesturday. I ran out of 2 ltr.'s and had to make the rounds of the recycle centers looking for jugs. Onlu one dump box at site so only managed to get 30 2 ltrs. Probably need another 30-40 or so before done. I'm at 84 now, plus a lot of stuff will go in gallon milk jugs. jim

Hi Solar Storm, Espada de Sao Jorge = St. George's Sword, translated from Portuguese, the language of Brazil, its colonial parent Portugal (& several other former Portuguese colonies, like Angola, Mozambique, Macao, (& I think Goa & the Azores). I know this as Jorge is my ex-brother-in-law's name, making St. George his patron saint, which is a Catholic custom (Brazil is the largest Catholic country in the world).

At my old business(a kennel) I used scent in various ways. I kept it super clean as a smelly kennel will turn customers away in a heartbeat. I did use those plug in scent things from Bath & Bodyworks. I loved the Eucalyptus Mint for the kennel training room. My clients always commented on how fresh the place smelled. Then I also planted scent producing plants around, mostly because I liked them, but it ended up being a great thing for the business. I had 2 Daphne Odora in the parking area and clients went nuts when they were in bloom. Then by the training field I had Osmanthus Fragrans. They bloom twice a year and clients apparently still remember the scent. One of my former clients(who became a friend) called me just last week. She moved into a new house and was on her deck and smelled a blooming Osmanthus. She told me “I flashed back to training on the field at Wolfbrook!” If someone could replicate either of those scents I’d buy it.

When describing maternal and paternal ties (as in the Atlantic article), you are talking about the difference between bonds with mothers and fathers, whereas the saying refers to the difference between sons and daughters - two completely different sets of criteria. The strength of a maternal bond does not distinguish between a son and a daughter, and I have found that sons often have stronger ties to their mothers while daughters have stronger ties to their fathers, which is the opposite of what the Irish saying predicts. LOL. I think you're hooked. It takes so long for me to prep, label, sow and tape a jug, about 5-6 hours today to do 8, too long! An old nicked stainless steel bowl two large scoopfuls are about right for one gallon.

The half gallons should go quicker once I get them cut, holes are punched. Will take less soil per jug and s/b easier to tape.

I just like the experimenting; if I get too many, I'll try to find homes for them. Once I gain more experience, it should get a little easier.

Ooh, I need a hubbie or neighbor like that! Just got home from work and I'm tired, but it is Tuesday night so it is time to go hit up all the curbside recycle bins.... Wish me luck.
