Very pretty! Looks like you may have to divide things next yr. but then you can plant them somewhere else, or give them to friends! Thats what I do. My best friend and I trade eachother for things we don't have when we divide! But now we are both starting to run out of room! Guess I just need a bigger yard! -Jessica

Wow, nice progress! I gotta say, though, Ken, the thing that *still* makes me the most envious is that gorgeous stone. Every time I see your pictures, my eyes go right to that stone. Very jealous...

Lovely!!...No need to divide....just top dress with a bit of composted cow manure and water well and it will be even more gorgous next year.

Dee, I still need to finish the corners as you can see. :c( Perhaps I will do it this weekend. My goal is to lay some stone down in front of the garden for a patio. Perhaps next years job.

A2zmom, a lot of what you see I ordered from Bluestone. I filled in with plants from two local nurseries, Comisky Greenhouses in Hightstown and Tony's Farm and Garden Center in Windsor. They are nice nurseries, but probably not worth driving too far for.

Thanks Linda, you posted just before I hit send. Yea... I think I can go longer before dividing as I like a real full garden. When do you suggest I top with compost manure? In the fall?

What are the plants there? What is the tall one oward the back on the right with the blue flowers? Is that veronica?

If you are talking about the last photo, the bushy tall looking plant with blue flowers are Blue Fortune Agastache. I tried them there last year, but they did not make it. I tried it again this spring and they are doing just fine. I planted three one gallon pots. Actually I saw some Black Adder Agastache at the nursery a few weeks ago that I liked better. It was a deeper shade of blue and for some reason I liked them better.

Actually if you look at those floppy pink flowers in the front on that last photo you will see some Veronica, it is incana minuet. And the blue that is between the Incana Minuet and the liatris are Veronica's too. They are Royal Candles.

Yea... I built it. It was my first attempt at building a wall. I have a lot of respect for those that do this well. It is an art! On top of that it was a lot of work. LOL.

I know some that just pile rocks and fill dirt behind to keep it steady. I built the wall first so that it was strong without the fill.and than filled the center. I also dug down about 8 inces below the wall and filled it with rock and then gravel dust. The wall is tough. I can walk on it and there is no movement. Not bad for a dry stack wall I guess.

As I mentioned above, I want to get some big flat stones and make a patio type surface between the garden and the house. I was at one point thinking of getting the square cut stone, but I think the irregular shapes would fit the look better.

Oh thanks for the info on Agastache. I definitely want to get some of that. Your garden is beautiful, and I see that you and I are in the same zone. So I will definitely try it.
