Requiem for Teasing Georgia (Rose Rosette)

I know I'm not alone because I have seen several postings about people losing beloved roses to Rose Rosette Disease. Beautiful Teasing Georgia, the graceful backdrop for my watergarden, went to the burn pile today. All the signs were there including large canes sprouting from small ones. Perhaps I should just look at it as making way for a new rose, But I'm hestant to plant where RRD had infested the previous rose. Anyone have experience with replanting in this situation?
