My Adenium Collection Revised
Comments (22)Ray, beautiful plants. Thank you for sharing the pictures. Do you feed them? I have a small one in a 4” clay pot. Looks healthy but has not bloomed. I haven’t had the courage to put it in full sun especially since it’s been in the high 90’s and above. I wonder if I should move it to full sun gradually. Looks like yours are in full sun all day? I’m in So. Calif, probably drier than FL....See MorePictures Of My Adenium Blooms
Comments (18)hey kathi. i know its against the norm, or rules. i have a white desert rose that was about 2’ tall. couple years ago i forgot about it and it sat in about 4” of water for over a week. in a month it had many pure white flowers. idk? no fertilizer and best of all no root rot. every plant is unique and different...See MoreThis is the picture of my adenium

Comments (0)UPDATE: Never Mind. Got guidance on another forum and just cut the leafy tops off and stuck them into a bucket of soapy vinegar water to kill the bugs. I want to try to root some of them, but don't know if they'll root after all this stress. Anyway, there are no more mealybugs on the plant, but there are no more leaves or blooms either. But at least it's alive. ORIGINAL POST: My poor baby got a terrible infestation of whiteflies, and while I've been fighting them and think I've got them under control, the leaves look horrible. I haven't cut it back in a few years, just wanting to see how tall it would get, since it's never been a bushy plant. Would it hurt to cut it back now? I don't mind losing flowers, I just don't want to leave it like this, and I certainly don't want to lose the plant. PLUS, I accidentally put Bayer 2-in-1 on it this morning, but I scraped most of it back off the top. It says it's not for container plants. I didn't put much on, just a tablespoon in a 12-inch pot, and didn't water it in very well. I'm so mad at myself for mixing up the insecticide with the fertilizer. This plant is 19 years old, and I grew it from a seed, so I really don't want to lose her....See Morepachypode
