Lots of buds on the roses but hardly a bloom in sight yet.

Same for lots of lily bulbs. Not time yet for blooms.

The right side front yard of my house taken from the middle of the street. To the very right is florabundaville and more top left are the shrub and clements roses. Can't wait for bloom season again.

All that color about the middle of the picture is my clematis tower. To the right of the clematis is a big trellis with lots of honeysuckle vines. The front also has lots of lilies, iris and daylilies besides the roses.

It looks like you're going to be rewarded very soon! I always love seeing your pictures, everything seems so very lush. Our way of gardening in Texas is quite different, unfortunately not exactly lush a lot of the time...

Same thing here. Zillions of buds and lots of color showing but only a few open and it has been this way for two weeks. We had some cold nights a week ago that stopped them in their tracks so now the ground needs to warm up just a bit more and voila...an explosion. In the past the first flush usually peaked here about June 10 and this year it will be at least two weeks early so not to complain.

I'm a little more reserved this year with starting seeds, especially my tomatoes. Usually they are flowering before I can get them into the garden, so I've only started them a few days ago. I have pepper plants sprouting. I saved seeds from some long red sweet peppers I got at Sam's Club a few weeks ago and they were so delicious. I hope the seeds reproduce true to the original. I plan on getting my 16' x 20' greenhouse set up as soon as I get the lawn in the area raked and all the downed branches picked up. Today it's raining, so no outside work could be done. As soon as it's dry and nice out again, I plan to start some cool season veggies like spinach, lettuce and beets. I devote most of my garden to tomato plants, using wire cages for support. I end up every year with a tomato jungle, and lots of tomatoes to eat and make into juice. A few years ago I tried growing tomatoes hanging downward in large pots and had tomatoes to eat already on July 7th, my granddaughter's birthday. I may do some of those again this year, but it's hard to find places to hang the pots because my trees are so much bigger and not much sunshine gets through except where the garden is. Looks like this week will stay cool and wet here along Lake Michigan. Hope it warms up after Easter.

Is this the same song you had a month ago or so? While the lyrics are touching, I would personally prefer something that had some hope of a future which wasn't just tears and toughness which will be comforted. A future of sharing joys as well as hardships would be more my stlye.

It is true that the spring flush around here is pretty close to June 10th most years. I am sure it will be early this year. The roses look good now with lots of new growth. This in spite of the fact that they needed more prunning this year than ever before. All sorts of dead braches and winterkill. But that's all a memory and now just waiting for bloom.
