Oak Leaves, pH and Lime...?

I've been composting all the leaves from the Pin Oaks that the previous owners of the house were kind enough to leave all around my .21 acre lot when we bought the house. I'll be damned if I didn't have at least a cubic yard of them - after they were reduced rather finely through my cheapo tiller as well as some grasses, a few twigs, and various other compostable goodies.

I recall reading somewhere that oak leaves tend to be rather acidic and without bothering to grab a pH reading of the pile, I threw a little lime in the mix to try to neutralize things as I went.

Recently, however, I read that augmenting lime in your compost can be really detrimental to the process and I was wondering if I might have pooched things?
