A large batch of green chilli sauce I was fermenting, to which I added kiwifruit (hey, it works for some relatively big chilli-sauce guns round here...)
Ooh yuck. Not very tasty. My lesson for the day is "if you must experiment, add x to a BIT of precious thing y, so you don't contaminate the entire batch and have to feed it to the compost heap".

I just finished building an appox. four by four foot pile of garlic mustard (with a neglibible amount of other stuff) covered with a permeable cover. Not exactly the most diverse pile but I did this more for disposal, reduction and containing the seeds than for making compost. I had grander plans but time and budget limitations got in the way.

Half a tarp full of pansies the landscape guy at my office was pulling out of the ground. The other half of the pansies still had chunks of dirt on them and they are now thriving in my flower gardens.

For some reason, the folks around here don't know a ripe pineapple in the store when the aroma hits them in the face like a sopping-wet, giganto-sized bath towel. I've witnessed this so many times over the past few weeks - happy shopper comes along and sees pineapples on sale, and picks the greenest, hardest, sourest one in the stack, leaving the golden, fragrant ones sitting there. So I pick them up. Four, five at a time, every time I go in the grocery store. Today I scored 5. Come home and peel, dice, and refrigerate.

That and dryer lint and the remains of what happens when you leave a 6 qt pot of pinto beans simmering on the stove over-night, with the windows open so the smoke doesn't go near the smoke detector. High carbon, that.

Fresh grass clippings, UGC's, pineapple pieces, coffee filters, spent geraniums. Haven't been cooking in a while, but most of that stuff goes into my indoor worm bin.

I really need to dump the left side of my tumbler, so the right side and finish.
The worm bin in the country got some old salsa that sat in teh back of the fridge for to long, wonder how they liked it.

LOL yep I am a wacko. Heck my neighbor gave me the peel and seeds from several honeydew she did up yesterday. The tumbler also got several buckets full of weeds, I am getting a really nice crop of weeds this year....
I also put some paper from Taco Bell, coffee grounds with filter, paper towels, nothing to much fun today.
The right side of the twin tumbler is cooking really good today. It is 83 outside today but the tumbler is at a wonderful toasty 156.7.

The usual daily 1 gallon bucket of 'stuff' - UCG, egg shells, toast crusts, 1 banana peel, 2 over-ripe bananas, veggie trimmings (romaine, tomatoes, cukes, carrot/potato/onion peels), a couple of TT cardboard rolls got buried between the plants in the garden. I picked up about 30# of UCG from the coffee shop the other day and scattered it on the soil in the garden. Didn't put it in the compost as we're moving the 5 bins to landscape that area so I've been mixing unfinished and finished compost and weedy grass clippings in the cement mixer with alfalfa tea for my compost/mulch. I also picked a lot of wild yarrow, other weeds, and dead-headed flowers and layered it with this stuff. Will let it sit and heat awhile - have quite a nice big pile already and not finished yet. Letting the cement mixer do the turning for me. Lazy ol' person's way to mix compost!
