I have "Strawberry Crush", "Paprika" and "Cherry Pie". They were purchased in late June as the end of season sale this year. They were in 4-inch pots and I planted them in 10-inch pots. They grow very quick and big. Just like you said, long stems with glossy healthy leaves. But there were only two flowers on "strawberry crush" and three on "Paprika" so far. And they didn't last for three days under the hot sun!There isn't any bud in those two plants now. Only long stems with nice looking leaves. "Cherry pie" is better, nice flowers last more than a week. But this is the first "wave" of flowering. I don't see any new buds yet. Compared to "Flower carpet", these OSO Easy are a bit disappointing. Our "flower carpet" are always in flowers, even the one I started from a stick early this year. Maybe you can try pegging to see if they will rebloom better? I was hoping they might rebloom better after they got mature. Probably not.

I cut all my lantanas back in the fall (right after the hard frost) and they all come back. They are much easier to deal with while the foliage is soft, once they totally dry up they are hard and very prickly. I usually cut myself then. The pink/yellow variety that is hardy is Mozelle. One year I rooted 2 dozen of these in the garage.... I will always have this now! Other hardy ones I have are Dallas Red, New Gold and of course, Miss Huff. Last year I tried another variety that I do not remember the name, sorry, but it was short and brightly colored with hot pink flowers and steel blue berries- the nursery swore it was hardy for this area but it did not return. I've had the Mozelle, Miss Huff, New Gold and Dallas Red for almost ten years.

I am not sure if you can get the Shield Rose where you live. This one has survived everything that is thrown at it. I never got around to covering it up for the winter. due to going for therapy on a pulled muscle in my arm and upper thigh. I was afraid it had gone but like wow they all survived but one. Here is one of my Shield or there is the gorgeous Chinook Sunrise. Was having issues but you should see it this year and I never got to cover it up as well. This shield rose is awesome!!! Hah one lady said I should cut it back as I wouldn't get any roses on it. Well it made a liar out of her as it did indeed get roses on it all kinds of beautiful red ones. Even had a bout with the sawfly larvae which I ended up taking out my stool and a measuring cup of hot water and dish detergent and picking them off it by hand. Then when finished I threw the water over our wooden fence with them in it. :) I live north of Toronto in Ontario, Canada. Have yet to see the flowers on the chinook as they were all finished with for the season when I bought it from our nearby garden centre. But have seen pictures of them online. Have yet to see any buds on the shield or the chinook.
