Haven't heard anything.

The dealer I've been talking to about GR2000 says that's what they've been told (about the timing etc.) He also thinks that the model(s) won't be much different, just cosmetic. Said rationale was something about the first run model had some transmission issues that had been addressed since, but the bad rap is sticking in consumer minds, so they are changing the model name and look.

Interesting thanks for the feedback. Must be all the folks who had the brass washer debris in their hydro fluid change. I have seen threads on people trying to nail down which serial number run had the problem, but nobody knows (that I could find). You still come across recent owners who have this problem. Enough to scare me personally away from buying this model until I become better informed on serial number runs.

Hmm, now that you mention that, it's making me think now. I have a thread started here asking for help in choosing between the GR2000 and a Simplicity AWD Conquest. After reading about the plant shutdowns for Simplicity in another thread I'm having second thoughts about that tractor too. Not about the current tractor, but whether the new "Corporate Mind" will do to my small indie dealer what JD did to theirs. Seems all the American Companies are pushing us away.

I searched this forum and found one individual who mentioned they had debri in their GR transaxal fluid. Can you post the threads?

google will bring up threads in the other popular tractor forums depending on what gr2100 terms you put in. like metal, brass, filings, Transaxle, hydro fluid. Ask your dealer, they know all about it. From my understanding it's on the older models. But you know how dealers have brand new older models for sale. say for example 2005 or 2006 ones.

I have a 2005 GR2100. You had be concerned, but I tried searching and found nothing. My dealer had no knowledge as well.

I looked around the net and didn't find much on hydro issues.My local dealer in this relatively small town has sold dozens of both gas and diesel models,and hasn't seen any problems yet.I don't believe there's any inherent problems,just internet hoopla.

locknut,my dealer refuses to sell the GR series now due to too many problems with that hydro. They've had 4 of them in for hydro service in the last year due to the brass washer failures and the debris causing issues afterward. It's no hoopla,it's a design flaw that they've since corrected(so they claim),and the new units aren't supposed to be doing that.

Locknut, I'm still considering buying the GR2000. However, the dealer that I'll buy from is the guy who told be about the issue, I believe it is an old issue. I was there (at the dealer) today, but didn't think to ask him more about it. I'll be there again Thursday and ask him for more detail.

locknut and paulk..your dealer didn't know about these problems? You need new dealers! Yikes.

machiem, a dealer can choose to sell a product or not to sell it-it's as simple as not ordering a model if they choose to not sell it. He refuses to sell it simply becuase it's not proven itself reliable,and he wants no part of a tainted or problematic model-the dealer is the one that always gets blamed and has to deal with the grief from customers when there are problems.

I think I own the model... its a GR 2110. (diesel, 54 inch deck). No color literature. Runs great!

freewillie..... I was comsidering getting a gr2100, but am suddenly getting cold feet. You seem very satisied with yours. How long have you had yours? I need somthing along these lines for the AWD traction.

I own a GR2100. It's a top of the line lawn mower. That said...it doesn't even cut grass that well, espically on slopes. The hydro is WEAK to say the least. I have a 25 year old Gravely that is superior in just about every way. IF I had it to do over again, I think I would get soemthing else.

Are you sure this new model is a "GR2110"?

I searched the net and only found 3 links to a Kubota GR2110 and those must have been typos for a GR2100 because 2 were for aftermarket parts and the 3rd was for a used machine with a picture that clearly showed a GR2100.

Salesman took me over to it to show it to me friday. I had a GR2100 but traded it in on a BX2350 after mower deck problems

Chris, I had the same problem with my gr2100 when first delivered . The fault is the linkages going to the hydro are not adjusted properly from the factory, I spent an hour lying under it playing around and now it is great , 70hr's of hard use and no problems

Bought gr2110 last week , already have 6+hr, found a loose transmission bolt, had to level deck, seat is 2.5 in lower, high back seat, spring loaded seat adjustable for weight, zg23-54 style deck ,awd working well, I have hilly terain and before walk behind safest, husky zero turn or lawn tractor could not handle -sliding and traction problems ....but GR2110 is nice puts smile on your face. feels stable think lower seat a plus

Thanks for posting the pic link.The rear of the tractor/seat look the same to me.I would think lowering the seat that much would require a major re-design of the rear half of the tractor.
