I'm not sure what the dealer is thinking. He HAS my GR now....there was some leaking around the left rear wheel clutch acutaion shaft that he is fixing. I keep having this sickning feeling I'm gonna get a call saying that he made a mistake with the numbers, but he seems quite confident they are correct. I talked to him this afternoon and he is going to touch base with the owner in the morning and give me a call. If all is still well I will go in tomorrow and do teh paper work and they will deliver it Monday.....guess we'll see.....

I love my zero turn very much. (see attached photo) I bought a 2100 a while back for my wife because she doesnt like zero turns. me personally i dont like the steering on it its kind of like a 4-wheel differential on a truck. This tractor traveling in a straight direction is in All Wheel Drive. When starting a turn, the Glide Steer is engaged. The inside rear wheel begins to track freely, thus enabling a tight turn while preventing damage to the turf. The front wheels turn 70 degrees, much more than other garden tractors in the marketplace. I havent had any problems out of the transmission yet. (KNOCK ON WOOD) I say if it goes for the right price go for it say around the $2500-$3500 price range i paid $6000 for mine brand new and it came with a bagger. And on a 2nd note i would ask the seller if you can drive it before buying to see if you like the way it steers. Thats the main complaint i've seen about this mower. Several things. 1. Kubota exaggerates the horsepower of its small diesel engines. Example: My Kubota ZD-21 is rated at 21 HP, manufacturer's estimate. The true horsepower is about 18, based on the actual engine data plate Kilowatt rating. Multiply Kw by 3.41 for horsepower conversion. Regardless, I like the diesel--for me. Others should consider 1) You will need another fuel source, storage, and cans. 2) Initial cost tends to be much higher. 3) Noise varies, but is apt to be a bit higher, especially at idle. 4) A consumer garden tractor may well wear out long before the engine, thus negating any diesel engine longevity benefits. 5. Diesel fuel costs are now higher than gasoline, and the margin may increase as more diesel cars come on the market. 6. Equipment brand and model shopping choices narrow considerably if you insist on having a diesel engine. 7. Diesel engines weigh more, and that will create a heavier mower or tractor. 8. While repairs tend to be infrequent, they are often more costly and fewer service locations exist. Depending on location, you may have to drive further to get service. 9. Many consumers can do gasoline engine maintenance. Fewer are equipped to deal with diesel fuel injection equipment.

Well, you have learned the truth about advertisisng! Watch what ya buy, ask questions about other folks machines, don't always believe what ya see, or hear. Do believe the cautions on basic stuff. Don't buy because of the high-sounding name. Don't figure, because the cost is high-that you are getting a really wonderful piece of machinery. I deal mainly in used machines. Only one machine, i bought new. A Snapper Hi-vac riding lawn mower. Bought it around 1983-still using it, altho the original engine "went to lunch" Rest of parts are original. Now, if you are operating a business of lawn mowing, then buy the more expensive machines, and do the maintenance and repairs, and correct operation! For home use, a Craftsman lawn tractor should suffice. Lord knows, i've mowed a lot of grass with used stuff. Even Craftsman lawn tractors. Parts are reasonable, and available. And, after-market parts work as good as original brand name parts. Some times, even better. But-do as you wish. What do i know? RJ
