Black tip in NOT caused by fungal issues according to the latest research. Several of us on the West Coast have sent samples of "black tip" to labs. The conclusion of the labs testing on freshly harvested new appearances of stems with "black tip" was "no fungus found". With older stems there were findings of fungal (fuserium being one) activity leading to the conclusion that fungal activity was secondary. Another study by Sean Miller and recognized by Dr. Criley was; mites on the tip of stems cause stress to the plant and the plumeria develops "black tip". As you well know all the plumeria societies and many that have websites stick to "fungus" as the cause. Trying not to be repetitious fungal issues are a secondary issue in all cases studied by me and others. We have found the healthier the plant the less issues with "black tip". What we know as "black tip" does not occur often or not at all in many tropic areas. The plumeria defined by science is a "tropical succulent tree". Most that frequent this forum grow their plumeria out of its natural habitat. In addition it may grow in sub tropical regions such as Southern California and Florida however the many issues including "black tip" prove that science is correct in labeling it a TROPICAL TREE. There are "Other reasons" to panel a DW or A Fridge, instead of just to "Hide It". I watch a lotta Home & Garden and DIY Network too. You may have seen the posts in "Kitchen Forum" where somebody asked, "Do I need a DW in my new kitchen"? The answers were "almost" universally yes!! So I don't get this "Latest Fad", Hide the appliances (it will pass). I have looked at probably thousands of pictures of Kitchens both on GW and elsewhere! I have not seen a single (not a single picture) where I could not walk straight up to the Fridge or the DW (Regardless of the "Total Integration" which as mentioned, You will pay "Dearly" for. Both our Fridge and Miele DW are built in and wood panelled. We did that for 2 reasons, One is, we were tired of trying to keep stainless steel "Spotless" The DW is a real problem , you get a drop of water on it, and it instantly "Morphs into a difficult spot to remove". The other reason we did it, is we like the look of wood, and I "Personally think" that the Miele label above the wood looks great, and I like seeing the readout so I know what the DW is up to. "Semi" integreated appliances are quite a bit cheaper than fully integrated ones, and this 67 year old has no desire to "Design to the latest Fad" which as I mentioned is a farce anyway, and most ppl want a Fridge and DW in their Kitchens, so why "Pretend" to hide them????? We live in a very large Midwestern city school district. The school district budget is MILLIONS of dollars a year. But, by the time any $ trickels down to our local elementary school, it's pennies. The teachers ar our elementary school are so dedicated and work so hard! There are only 4 families active on the PTA, but most families take part in the fund raisers. Here are some of the things PTA pays for at the school: 1. The biggest item is "teacher wish list". Teachers can submit requests every month for items that the district will not cover. Some examples from last year - a new pencil sharpener for the third grade classroom, to replace the broken one that would not work and to keep the kids from having to go across the hall to the 2nd grade room to sharpen pencils. Yes, the district would not buy a new pencil sharpener - outrageous! New basketballs for the gym teacher, to replace the worn out, cracked ones that would not bounce right - the district would not buy new balls. A series of video tapes for the speech thrapist to use with her kids - the district would not buy. Paper for the laser printers in the office - the district severly rations paper and there is never enough. Special items for the occupational therpists - district won't cover anything beyond what they consider the minimum for any therapists. Extra diapers for a diaper-dependent disabled child who is in a wheelchair, whose parents couldn't afford to keep extra diapers at school, so the techer kept buying extra packs until she finally asked the PTA to buy a case to keep in the classroom. This list goes on and on. Every month, I am outraged at what the district won't purchase for the teachers - basics, not luxury items! Teacher already buy so much from their meager paychecks! 2. The ribbons & certificates for honor roll award - district won't buy them. 3. The school carnival. The PTA puts this on for the kids, it's not a money maker, and the kids LOVE it. 4. The school open house. The district won't cover refreshments at open house, so the PTA buys them. 5. PLAYGROUND EQUIPMENT. The district does not have a single dime budgeted for playground equipment. Every year before school starts, each elementary playground is inspected, and unsafe equipment is torn down, but is not replaced by the district. If the school has a playground, it has to be paid for by the PTA. This is the primary function of most PTAs in my areas, because playground equipment costs thousands of dollars! 6. Teacher appreciation breakfast the day before school starts, a mid-year teacher appreciation lunch, and an end of the year teacher appreciation breakfast. These teachers work so hard, it's the least we can do to have a meal brought in three times a year! 7. End-of-year field day and pizza party for the whole school, on the last day of school. The field day includes carnival rides and games, snocones, and pizza - all free of charge to the kids. Sorry this is so long, but I get irritated when parents complian about PTA selling stuff. If you'd like to know why your kindergartener is selling gift wrap, attend a PTA meeting and ask them just where the money goes. Hopefull it goes right back to the kids, through their teachers or directly!

Greendesigns: Thank you so much and please bear with me just to make sure I understand what you're saying: 1. If this installs between a cabinet and a fridge that has a side panel, I can attach it to that fridge panel as well as to the cab on the other side? Another counter height panel WOULDN'T be necessary next to the fridge panel? 2. If the fridge was free-standing, then a counter-height, 3/4" panel would need to be added next to the fridge so there'd be something to screw the insert to? And... 3. If I want it to look like a fill piece, just add the fill piece to the front of the pullout insert. If I want it to be even with the front of the doors then an additional something needs to be added on top of the fill piece? One more question for you: If a person had a tall pullout between a fridge (with side panel) and a wall, could the insert be screwed into the wall on that side, or does another panel need to be added to the wall and then the pullout screwed to that? Taggie: thank you for those links. I do remember that broom pullout. That might be in the running for what to do with that space. It would be handy for sure.
