Comments (2)They're best in partial sun, in moist but well-drained soil. More info here. I have two in mostly full sun (I didn't plant them, the previous homeowner did) and they tend to develop moderately unsightly leaf scorch by mid to late summer. The leaves also drop early without color, the flowers are forgettable, and the tree is in general less ornamental than many other buckeyes. Comments (0)Is this one at all available in eastern Canada? ... I have not yet seen it out west. I have a regluar Ohio buckeye, and while it's definitely a very attractive specimen, it does have it's drawbacks. It's one of the first trees to turn color ( a rather unattractive yellowish brown ) and drops it's foliage almost immediately.
