Converting yard to garden and have sod webworms. is this good....

Hi, I am new here. I just have a question.
I am in the process of killing off a large section of my yard to make way for a new vegetable garden.
I tilled up the top layer of the grass and sprayed it with some grass killer. I am now covering it with a tarp to kill the grass and break it down a bit.
I then plan to grow something like alfalfa and then plan to till that under for green manure.

Anyway why i am here is I looked under my tarp today and noticed there are some sod webworms down there going to town. Now my thought is that may be a good thing. i want the grass to be gone and they want to eat it. but what are those little grubs going to leave behind is the question?
Is it going to be more harm than good?
I could just pull back the tarp for awhile and the flocks of birds around here would probably decimate them.
Let me know what you think.
THANK YOU!!
