The story:

So, my compost bin is a 32gal trash can. But it got full, and I still have kitchen scraps, so I started burying them. Next to the deck. Then I had a pile of sod, so on a lazy day I just put scraps then sod on top. Then plant clippings.

Then I wanted of make a new lasagna bed so I got a bag of grass clippings from my neighbor. Then it rained and rained and rained, and the grass started getting STINKY so I ended up putting it on top of that pile I mentioned. Which now also has some drenched municipal compost and wood chips.

It stills smells strong. Ugh!

What can I do to neutralize the smell? I think I need way more browns -- what's the most effective smell-killer?

I'm tempted to buy topsoil/garden soil to dump on top -- will that kill the smell?

It's either I kill the smell or some suffering family member is liable to kill me! Yikes!
