Coffee Grounds Question

Actually, it's a couple questions. I can't make my own traditional compost, breathing around it makes my nose bleed (weak veins in my nose, cauterized, but for some reason this still bothers even the scarred areas). I've heard of using coffee grounds, tea grounds (both along with the bags/filters) and ground egg shell. Can this be used alone as compost? I'm going to go to lasagna gardening in the fall, but for now, I have all these coffee and tea grounds and egg shells that my HUGE family produces. Would using these items, along with like potato peels, be alright, it too acid? Should I spread it directly? Right around the plants or in the walk spaces between rows?

Thanks for the help in advance!

Kathy
