rose rosette virus infection dormant?

"As if we needed any additional reason to be depressed, thereâÂÂs one additional complication. It seems the RRD can remain dormant in a rose plant for several years before symptoms develop. This means that you can have an otherwise healthy-looking rose in your garden for several growing seasons, providing ample opportunity for the little mites to spread the disease from infected to healthy rose plants."

H. Kuska comment. It is unfortunate that news reports like this are not requred to be documented.
