27 F here this morning...again

Here in north Florida, we had yet another freeze - very late in the year. As before, new growth had been emerging on most trees and new damage was incurred. This is the 3rd such freeze this year. Some native trees such as hickories, Celtis laevigata, Quercus michauxii etc. had their new growth frozen off in Feb., started to recover and put out new growth, only to be frozen again last night. Tonight we have already set another record (its 31 F) right now - should be upper 20s by morning again..And, another freeze is expected tonight. I wish the real spring would show up, this is getting old. I lost my entire peach crop and now my spring veggies look to be damaged by last night. We are also in a severe drought - looking like a rough start to the growing season.
