Emerald Green Arborvitae - dying from the cold??

We just got back from vacation in sunny Mexico and found that with the drop in temperatures to minus degrees and all the snowfall (16 inches), our Emerald Green's look awful! We have 8 of them planted along a fenceline in the back (small lot, less than 1/4 acre), they stand no more than 5 feet tall. They are all slumped over from the weight of the snow (we usually brush the snow off and twine any straggling branches), and they look like they lost a lot of the needles. I am sick to my stomach over this - we planted them 3 years ago and they were doing wonderfully. Are they going to survive, or is this going to be the final product?
