Comments (4)As it warms up out in the garden, you will begin to see pale creamy yellow lightly highlighted by the softest pastel pink flush on a very large bloom. One of the most beautiful rose blooms ever. (Assuming they labeled the rose correctly--but don't worry. I seem to remember that they always started the season--during cooler weather--as just pure light yellow. Haven't grown Peace in some time now, but used to grow it in several different gardens.) But it will have to be sprayed for BS--you are warned. : ) Kate...See Moreyellow/gold/orange Austins that don't fade?
Comments (12)Thank you all for good places to start my research. I did like Charlotte when I had her years ago but the deer killed her and I'm looking for something with a little more of the gold or orange in it this time. It would be so nice if the label or the catalog would tell you how it faded! Of course that would say something like "soft ivory" rather than "grayish parchment" but "fades a lot" and "holds its color well compared to" would be helpful!...See MoreNeed a fragrant yellow rose that won't fade, please oh please.
Comments (5)Because I pampered it for 3 years from a 4 inch tall little band plant and it never grew more than 3 feet tall. Then it died suddenly. If I could buy Marachel Niel on rootstock I'd buy another in a heartbeat. From what I read from another gardener who dug up a 9 foot tall M.N the rootball on the plant was no where near large enough to support its' growth, which is why it died. Rootstock= more vigor. I'm considering Lichtkonigenigin Lucia' because its' available on rootstock and would grow to be six feet tall in a year or two, and I am aware of my own mortality these days. Thanks for answering, I've never smelled / Allgold' does it have a mixed floral scent? or lemony? or??? Lux...See MoreRoses with darker centers fading lighter toward edges
Comments (42)This has been pure eye candy, what a ball to scroll down and view one gorgeous rose after another. By the end I'd even forgotten what the subject of this post was! Sylvia, I'm afraid Sheila is right; your pretty little rose is not Aunt Margy's Rose. Mine grows 6 to 7 feet against the house wall and looks like this:I believe Rogue Valley Rose carries the correct one....See MoreJean Marion (z6a Idaho)
