Need objective opinion on pruning/versus taking down Maple

I can't find my earlier post: I have a maple that is planted about 12 feet from the house. There is alarge holly bush in between the house and the maple that has lifted up, and pretty much dies. We were told that this was probably due to the maple's roots beneath it.

I need to contact someone who can give me an objective opinion about what we should do to this tree. I don't want to spend several hundred dollars pruning it if I am going to have to take it down b/c of its proximity to my house, and replace it with something else.

When I had people out to give me estimates for pruning, only 1 arborist said it is too close to the house which was why the Holly was lifting, but he did not make a recommendation to take it down,( nor had I considered that as a possibility then)

Some one on this forum suggested a tree organization to contact, so I hope you are still out there. :>)
