Trees for Martian Colony

If there was to be mission to Mars in the near future, what tree seeds should they bring? Assume they'll be living there for 2 year period in a dome on the surface, probably in a canyon. Water is scarce so trees would need to be drought-resistant low-water-usage variety. Soil is alkaline approx. 8 pH. Temperature is cool, ranging on planet from 80F to -190F.

As tree will be under a dome, temperature extreme lows should be moderated. Purpose would be too produce O2 and provide some greenery for astronauts. Don't know about intensity of sunlight hitting Mars vs. earth or decreased effect of gravity.

My guess is that some of the northern conifers might be suitable. Any suggestions and why?
