Shindaiwa new T242/M242 engine, as good as T270 & T260?

My dealer have special of buying M242 with short reach articulate hedge trimmer attachment for $529 and get a $99 string trimmer attachment for free. I think it is a good price.

How is the new T242/M242 engine, does the engine live up to the quality of the good old T270 and T260?

How is the short reach articulate hedge trimmer attachment?

Thats like comparing apples to oranges.The 242 took the place of the 231.The 260 and 270 are larger trimmers.But the engines of the 242 is as good as the 231.

I bought the M242 already and I love it, quiet, easy to start and strong enough. If it is as good as the tried and true T231 engine, which is the same as in their hedge trimmer, I am happy.
