Some of the best sources of genuinely older roses, which are much easier to care for than hybrid teas or floribundas, can be found on the internet. Such groups as hybrid musks, polyanthas, hybrid perpetuals, tea roses and many others, if chosen with care for your specific climate zone, can be grown without spraying poisons, and have a really charming, romantic look, in addition to being tough and resistant to disease.

queenbee, It is so exciting to get new roses. The big box stores here only carry knockouts, too. Very disappointing. I have some of those on your list.

You may want to ask the lady at the store you have found if they have a website or catalog that shows the roses they carry. You can then research the roses before you purchase them. In my experience, the roses that have performed best for me were ones I took the time to decide upon, instead of the impulse buys I have, although it is hard to resist them when you are at the store.

Pink Peace is wonderful, fragrant rose, and if you cut it in bud stage it lasts long in the vase. Not in the first year though,. let the rose grow and gain strength first.
