Gotta spray my babies!

I said I wasn't going to spray my newly planted roses, but I am out in the garden every day picking off the yellow leaves from blackspot. They all have it to some degree except for MAC and Basye's Purple. I can't stand to see them suffer when they are otherwise doing so well. I'm talking to them every day, too :-)

What's the best spray for blackspot? I have ordered a nice sprayer that's on it's way but now I need your help on what to use in the sprayer once it gets here.

Thanks for your help for my baby bushes.

I recommend Bayer Advanced Garden Disease Control (for flowers, shrubs, etc.). But make sure you read the name carefully. Bayer puts out several other products also. Make sure you are getting the "garden disease control" product--it is a fungicide only--and very effective.

2nd. I live outside Atlanta and this will stop the bs you have and prevent it from coming back.

Rina, I have a couple flowering plants, a osteospermum "soprano" that was too pretty to not buy, and a Sunsatia Lemon. Also I have some Zinger Hibiscus (yum), chinese forget-me-nots (not blooming yet), 2 moonflower vines, some lavender, basil and oregano. All those cuttings are indeed succulents. I have a few silver dollar and mini leaf jade cuttings, and 4 other gollum cuttings what came from a very large mama. Also I have several hens-n-chicks, a mystery plant (not sure if its sedum, echeveria, or... whatever lol), some "Baby Toes", some sedum stonecrop, 2 donkey tails that have fallen leaves propagating all over the place and of course the Hobbit, mini leaf and 2 gollums ( one small one large ). But enough about me... how about you, do u have a link to pics of your mama plants? If so I would love to see.... -Casie

Always something isn't it! I thought mine were goners when I started getting what appeared to be spotted wilt virus, but they've actually kept growing and it didn't spread as badly as I thought. I sprayed them with daconil, not sure if that helped or if the virus just wasn't too bad. Still getting plenty of tomatoes, they just ripen unevenly now. Taste fine though. It's tempting to just spray preventative, but I don't know if that would help or not. Now I'm battling squirrels. I'm trying Deer Off as it's supposed to work for squirrels too, but I'm not sure. The other day I went out to reapply and one of those damn varmints was up on my plants already, so I sprayed him directly. A couple of minutes later the SOB dropped a half eaten tomato from the tree above me, splatted a couple of feet away. Pretty sure I pissed him off and he was out for revenge.

Now that's creative! I LOVE how you combined the leaf & the dragonfly. When you remove the leaf, you can do a wash on it & stain the leaf. Maybe tape the dragonfly to spray & seal the stain. I made a couple of stepping stones with leaves & did them that way & they are holding up pretty well. There are pics of the painted leaf imprints near the bottom of the page. Bayer Advance Garden Disease Control it is. I searched the garden forums and got lost in different threads, before posting here, and ended up more confused about what spray. I got information overload.

It's good to know this will get rid of the BS that I already have. My house came with a HT and it got BS so bad that it was just twigs by the end of summer. Painful to see. My DH had to dig it up to do some home repair so I don't have it anymore. Just as well.
