I have a dutch door on one of my bedrooms and the dogs stay in there when i'm at work during the day. It's a great way to keep messes localized, and no one has to stay in a small crate.

This is a great guide, but I don't like to feel like I live in a fortress or something. I want to emphasize on educating and teaching my little one on what's good and what's bad.

All these steps are important, but teaching our kids have an even greater value.

When I baby proofed my kitchen, I used this guide: http://lifeinthekitchen.weebly.com/blog/childproofing-your-kitchen-the-complete-guide
