Comments (31)Is Fruitless Mulberry a Fair Burning Firewood? I should be answering the question since I have burned some seasoned a year and it seemed “Fair” to me and a friend gave it an OK. I got some of 4 piled 6 houses away last week. The 4 piles have doubled since they took down another tree. No Power Line This Time that affected our power. The neighbor gave me permission to go in the yard and take any wood vs just wood on the curb. My Son-In-Law and I got a healthy truck load of the best looking wood and had planned two. More than I should have been lifting-handling, plus it had lots of years of trimming damages (possible insects). Her promise is that they will cut the wood into sticks to hope it will be taken faster by individuals vs “limiter” City Pick-Ups Monthly (that can be on the curb). The 14”Electric Wen had no problem cutting into sticks. Next will be splitting wood over 6” in dia. To me the electric is Quite enough that I do not need my Ear Muffs (hearing very little) with my Hood on in the Cool weather. That night, “Said Different “as My Ringing Ears w/n let me sleep. My Ringing Ears are from working around too much machinery on the Job. I took pride in listening for noises that indicate a machine having a problem. Two specialists have recommended sleeping with Low selected noise to override my “Ringing Ears”… See the attachment of the one load of Wood before and after cutting…...See MoreThe future of grocery shopping.
Comments (38)Pre-vision issues, I could spend a lot of time at the grocery store.. I used to meet up with a friend who was also very busy and we'd grab a cup of coffee and shop together. When solo, I could happily wander the aisles looking for new items and selecting produce, meat etc. Just as background, I've been using primarily instacart for 4 yr-- as I can no longer shop in the traditional grocery stores (Ive talked about this ad nauseum so I won't go into the details here again). I can manage the Farmer's Market when it isn't busy-- and I hope to be able to manage Trader Joe's when it opens here in a few months. When i do go shopping, i need to take uber or piggyback on a sister or friend. Because of the increase in subscribers during the pandemic, I have seen pretty big improvements in the service. Of course there were supply/stocking issues in the stores-- but the service itself HAD to improve given the volume. I now get instantaneous credits for issues reported-- literally within seconds. No questions asked. Also, they have been providing me with coupons/perks pretty regularly. I just had $24 added to my account today "as a way to say thanks". Sure, I have had issues along the way-- including one recently where the driver dropped my order off at the wrong house! Even still, instacart has addressed the issues immediately and satisfactorily. Overall, the convenience has outweighed the inconvenience-- and even if it didn't, it is a service I depend on. Especially now that they include stores like Best Buy, Staples, Dicks Sporting Goods, Sephora and more. In the last month, I bought headphones for a gift and had a mouse delivered in 2 hr when my own mouse shorted out. I have tried other services, Shipt doesn't keep their store stock current which really annoys me. Walmart is substantially cheaper but not as reliable and there is no communication with the shopper as they are picking my order, RiteAid pharmacy delivery is frequently late-- but they have bent over backwards when I needed a prescription ASAP for a debilitating sinus infection. I used Amazon Fresh ages ago when they first started-- it worked pretty well for me and I appreciated getting WF items (we don't have a WF nearby) == unfortunately, they stopped the service in my area. I haven't used Peapod but both Amazon and Peapod work via the warehouse model vs brick and mortar. We do have a Giant food store-- but even so, Peapod delivers from warehouse stock, not brick and mortar stock. I don't expect these services to go away post-pandemic. Even friends and family who were resistant to the concept of grocery delivery are converts-- even if they don't use the services consistently. It is a huge convenience -- even with losing the freedom to browse and select your own produce, meat, etc....See MorePlease Advise on 13 or 15 AC Seer Purchase
Comments (43)G, head pressure is only down mildly on high SEER still well above R22 pressure. The coil area on the Bosch Inverter is probably one of the smallest condensers on the market, considering what it does and how it does it. Some of these condensers made these days are ridiculous, nearly 5 ft tall can't even fit them in my service van. Ruud / Rheem 16 SEER the thing is a behemoth. I don't know what the engineers were thinking when they made that beast. Most places you'd have trouble installing it, let alone getting it to fit in your service truck. Typical head pressure on Bosch usually in the 330 psi range depending on heat load / how hot it is. On say an Entry level 14 SEER unit the head pressure could be up near 400 psi and still be considered ok depending on heat load / how hot it is. Compared to R22 -- usually 200 to 250 psi head pressure....See MoreNot all HVAC pros have the same opinions
Comments (57)Charles I think it may come as a news flash that I don't care what you think. If you think mini split is all that go ahead... it's more equipment, the more equipment, the more it will break, the more my job is secure. (I'm a HVAC repair man first, I offer more choices than just Bosch Inverter.) It's a choice. Do I care if the Bosch wasn't the first Inverter driven ducted machine? no. Does Bosch care? no. There are reasons above and beyond why I recommend or sell something. If you just want to buy something without any reasons why? I question that logic. Not to mention the mileage of that reasoning. I stayed some where with mini splits and it was fine. --- great air conditioning on average is a 15 year appliance. The more you use it, the more likely it will break, the more likely and more frequently it will need maintenance. Skip the maintenance, increase repairs. But someone has a different opinion because they sell something else. When I could have chosen the same or similar path they took, but I didn't? (there's reasons for everything) If you call a Trane guy he will sell you Trane possibly tell you all the bad things about other brands why Trane is so good. Lennox guy same thing. They are going to sell you Lennox, not Trane? No they are in bed with Lennox. But I thought Trane was better? I thought Bosch was better? (It's about equipment sales when you make foolish arguments like this) Carrier? If you call Carrier guy are they going to tell you to buy Bosch? No. How about Trane or Lennox? No. The argument you put here is about as well thought out as most of your arguments. I gonna go to a Ford dealership and see what they say about Chevrolet? I'm gonna go to McDonalds and see what they say about a flame broiled Whopper? Seriously? But the flame broiled Whopper in some parts of the country may be no more because? Let's fashion a new silly argument. --- sure provide me more material. No problemo....See MoreGreg Goyeneche
