I hope you guys don't mind me posting some more spring pictures up here. My friends say, "What a lot of work that must have been!" and look at me like I'm nuts. They don't get it.

Front yard:

Huge Pink Impression tulip - somehow, I got a 100% return on them their second year. Very happy about that. They were planted 8 inches deep in very heavy clay.

Phlox subtulata, Banja Luka and Pink Impression tulips, and unnamed double daffodil that does not end up in the mud after a rain:

Tete a tetes (I think... can anyone confirm? There are 1-3 flowers on each stem):

Very nice, and they certainly look like Tete a tetes. I have 3 clumps of them, and they always get multiple blooms per stem. Great little plants. Mine are finished for the year now.

Hey, when your local friends don't understand your obsessions, that's why you have all your friends here at GW, right?

great! I love the pink impression shot, the flowers must be amazing! Mine did well this year (3rd year) even with the miserable care I've been giving them. Unlike my other tulips they seem more interested in flowering again rather than multiplying.

Hey Mike.....thanks! I'm going to take some pictures from the 3rd floor....I hired someone new to do the pond...it's almost done...he's done a fabulous job.....but at a price that was not too long ago my annual salary OUCH . No luck....I think I know more than the Dr's do.....I recently went to Duke for a test....all clean. But that doesn't stop the pain. Still working on it. Any suggestions for a good gut Dr? PS I just made my first order to the nursery you reccomended..his prices are extremely reasonable. Awaiting my first shipment.

David, again I enjoyed your pics very much! Some corrections you've to make: Pseudotsuga menziesii 'Albyn Prostrata' In one of your formerly topics you showed us a pic of this plant with the name Pinus sylvestris 'Albyn Prostrate'. I told you that this wasn't right, it's was a flatgrowing cultivar of Pseudotsuga menziesii, so the whole name you mentioned wasn't right, including the 'Albyn Prostrate' part. I guess this is a mis understanding from your side... Picea pungens 'Thume'. This must be written as: Picea pungens 'Thuem' pinus densifore golden ghost Mustbe written as: Pinus densiflora 'Golden Ghost' pinus wallchiana frosty Must be written as: Pinus wallichiana 'Frosty' picea engelmannii bushs lace Must be written as: Picea engelmannii 'Bush's Lace' larix eurolepis varied direction The new for this cross is: Larix x marschlinsii 'Varied Directions'. Thanks everyone! The garden sure is a labor of love. I have a 14yr old with a rare genetic disorder, so it's also a good dose of therapy for me! Schoolhouse, our last picket fence was about 13 years old and was rotting terribly even though it was cedar. We had also had very bad winds one Feb that knocked down 3 sections. We had "fixed" them but ultimately the fence had to go. The new fence was made and installed by a local NH fence company. It is cedar and very chunky/sturdy with 3 coats of white solid stain. We are so happy with it and expect this fence to last for years. He said the posts may need to be replaced after 15 years or so, but the picket sections should last forever. You can see from this photo how the fence was rotting away. The whole fence was like this. The arbor literally fell to pieces when it was taken down.

I get it! Gorgeous gorgeous gorgeous! THat is one huge tulip you've got. I love the mix you have.

Stevation - Wow! I have serious crabapple envy! 3 of 8 of mine died :-( Yours is stunning.

Wow! What a gorgeous crabapple. Are the blue masses behind it the pansies? They really look sky blue. Love the blue and pink combo, too.

Oh and Gottagarden - those Pink Impression tulips have gotten even BIGGER! I can now fit my fist inside one comfortably. I'll try to get a pic before they blow. I truly hope these stick around. I've never seen anything like them.

Yes, the blue area is the pansies that are planted under the tulips. These are Ultima Morpho pansies, and I really like the way they turned out!

Speaking of tulips, I snapped a few shots of the gardens at Temple Square in Salt Lake City this week. If only my gardens could look this good!

I don't know what they are -- those are in a public garden, and I'm not really a tulip expert. Maybe you can find more about them by doing a google image search?
