Salvia tend to like it drier than water-thirsty roses. Watering 2 days a week (depends how long you're watering and how much volume if you're on a drip) sounds fine for the roses, as you're near the coast. Plenty of water especially for now. But, that being said, with certain established roses, like Julia Child, they can get by nicely will less water than other roses. And some salvia can stand more water than other varieties. So, I was trying to find a salvia that didn't mind being wee bit wetter than they probably naturally like that was that deep bluish purple. It's the salvia I was more worried about, as I was going to have to water for the roses. I ended up ordering 4 different varieties and will simply make the decision when they arrive, and plant the rest in my yard in other places, since I (and the hummers) love salvia :-) Patty S.

I'd like to see a photo, too. But some yellow roses have a lot of pink/red tones lurking in the background, and when the temperature cools down, these tones come to the fore. Julia is one of those roses. I wish I had a photo of my dried Julia buds showing all the reddish pink in the yellow. Here's a bud of Golden Celebration that illustrates what I'm talking about. Diane

Pretty petals...500 roses! I have en entire back yard that doesn't have a single flower/shrub, etc., ..but I'm pacing myself. :-) Rose_crazy - the soil is all that but there are still chunks of that deep red sticky clay. I can't recall any place that has yellow roses down here....but I have seen other bush roses (nothing this pretty I don't think!) Let's hope they adapt and I can keep the happy! Diane...thank you! The yellow/purple combo has become my favorite and my son had no idea when he bought the Get Mees. He just knew I needed plants and his "new tradition" he said was going to be to buy perennials each year. (I like that tradition!) Your Get Mees look great. @Kristine LeGault 8a pnw, I absolutely agree with you about Julia’s colir range. I love when she picks up a bit of pink in the fall. My Julia Child gets done blackspot, but maintains vigor. Here she was around Halloween. Another favorite yellow floribunda for me is Yellow Submarine. I fell in love eith it at the National Botanic Garden and looked everywhere for it. Pim Ling roses are excellent, but not always easy to come by. I ordered mine from White Flower Farms. It is my favorite yellow. here it was at the botanical garden. The bees love it. Here it was as a first year rose in my garden. My 3rd yellow is Solero. The bush itself has never had a speck of black spot and the roses are lovely, but it has a crazy growth pattern with octopus canes. I plan to move it to s sunnier spot this spring.
