Buyer beware...numerous issues although small, add up...cedar is not totally western red but Alaskan mixed in (difference in character of wood)...Had to sand quite a bit of surfaces which should have been smooth, window sills , i.e....their knife blades for planing material must have had knicks in them...exterior walls are of tongue and groove cedar yet the planter boxes were cedar boards butted together, huh? had to line boxes so soil wouldn't seep through cracks...ordered knee braces for overhang at door which are 1/2" out of square...door hardware is kind of funky...and on and on...maybe a QC problem... Although once complete and alterations I made it's good enough...even after the many, many hours I spent remedying issues it looks good...BTW...I have been a master carpenter for 40 years and counting...I know wood and what I am doing

I've been following this thread, but refraining from answering ... until today. A beautiful day, with temps in the mid-70's, perfect for getting out there to work in the yard and gardens, move some more things out of the greenhouse, while enjoying the fresh spring breezes, birdsong, and buzzing bees ... and humming leaf blowers, and the drone of small aircraft operated by weekend pilots, and neighbor's little children who tool up and down the driveway in their little powered go-cart, and the not-so-little-"children" across the street going in circles on their go-carts, and the mortorcyclists out for a ride, not to mention the guys in their big off-road-capable trucks; however, it's still too early for the jet-skis, and the evening is peaceful, as the race track has announced it will be closing down this season. Hmmmmm ... is it really a change in views of our government that's needed? Restrictions on imported goods? I should give up the luxury of my (affordable) 6x8 (Chinese-made) greenhouse ... when I eschew a leaf-blower for a good old-fashioned hand rake, synthetic chemicals for organic gardening methods and IPM, and other such environmentally-friendly lifestyle decisions? When the car I've chosen to drive, even at 10 years of age, is more fuel-efficient than any (so-called) American-made model, but could not be parked in the lot of a local union hall because it's foreign-made? (I'm not kidding, they have a big billboard outside to make that clear.) When I'm living in a relatively small (All I can say is I'm glad I'm not among the younger generation. I'm worried for the world my children and grandchildren will have to live in ... and I cherish the freedom I do have to make a carefully considered decision about my purchases and my lifestyle. I have a big (30x30 ft) carport that I don't need. The roof is framed with sturdy prefab trusses spaced a few feet apart. What if I wall off the east-facing side, remove the corrugated metal roof and T-111 wall panels, and replace with polycarbonate panels? Would the structural rigidity be compromised by the loss of the metal and wood panels? If so, could I compensate by adding some wood diagonals to the frame? I don't think the wood trusses will decay, since my greenhouse will not be heated, and will be very well ventilated. Wood rot is not a problem at all in my present greenhouse, which I built 19 years ago. This idea is very attractive to me, since I would end up with a 15x30 ft. greenhouse for the cost of the polycarbonate panels plus the vents and some kind of vent opening mechanism. The carport already has a concrete floor. Has anyone tried something like this?

I see there was another question like this already. Looks like nobody knows of such a system.
