RE: Craftsman 18HP riding mower cannot remove wheels

I spent considerable time with penetrating oil and a large hammer and punch attempting to remove three Craftsman rear wheels on our two lawn tractors before going to this site. Thanks to all for suggestions. I decided to install tubes and not remove tires but tried one more thing first. I used the handle end of a 10-pound sled hammer to strike the inside of the wheel with firm but not violent hits. All three wheels came off easily and I cleaned off the rust, used emery cloth to further clean and then coated them with grease. Now I am going to remove the rear wheels annually and clean them up.
