We have a small front porch. We love sitting out there, It's usually nice because it gets morning sun and in the summer, it's cool. I planted Golden Showers in the corner and it's filled in very nicely to shield us from view from the street.

I sit on the patio and feed the koi. I have a view of 'Barcelona', 'Belinda's Dream', 'Disneyland', a few others, and the koi, of course.

On the left side of the picture, you can see part of a cedar chair. That's where I sit. The cast iron is pretty much just for show. It's usually too windy for me to manage morning newspaper reading there, and too sunny the rest of the day.

A few years ago I started a colection of rose bowls--had to put a stop to that----no more room---LOL--

Timely post. I have tea every morning in my 'Serenity corner"-It'a the first place in my back yard that gets sun. It's an old bench that I painted, and now it looks good. I face- "Graham Thomas"-Nightowl", "Golden Celebration"-& "RDV", along an 8' wire fence in pots are ""Rhapsody in blue", and "midnight blue". My next door neighbor just put a huge chain link dog enclosure right on the other side of the fence. I hope my roses grow tall pretty quickly. I will post a photo when it all starts blooming. I drink "Jasmine Downy Pearls" tea with agave nectar

What lovely photos of everyone's "tea rooms"! I wander through the garden, noticing new growth, complimenting the roses on their beautiful blooms and hunting for nasty bugs every morning while I drink my coffee. It's such a routine that as soon as I take a cup and walk towards the coffee pot, both dogs run to the door to the garden! I relax with tea in the afternoons, sitting under the arch and just admiring the beauty. I agree with Claude Monet: "I must have flowers, always, always!"

This post has brought to my attention that I DON'T have a place to sit outside and drink tea or coffee. In Washington I had a bench under the apple tree in the middle of the garden, and another bench in the roofed front door entrance where I could sit protected from wind and rain all through the winter. Here, nothing. The wisteria pergola in front of the house would be fine if it weren't a chronic work site and staging ground for everything. This realization of my lack of an outdoor place to drink tea/coffee has reinforced my idea that we need a nice big oak between our house and the terrace of our second house. We might have to take up a bit of terrace, job for a jackhammer, and the tree would be big enough to do its job about the time I died in advanced old age. But posterity would have a place to pile pots and bags of sand and compost under the oak, and still be able to sit outdoors to enjoy the morning.

I have to admit that right now, my porch is more of a 'beer room' than a tea room. It's still a bit too chilly in the AM to drink tea outside. 50 degrees this AM. Maybe it will be an ice tea room soon.
