I have read the attached links and I am still confused. I thought I read last year that an outdoor burner was not recommended. I have a glass top range so I need to use something else. I have a turkey fryer burner, a large burner on the propane grill, a two burner stove on folding legs that brings it up to stand-up height and it runs on a propane tank. I have a electric counter top double burner but not a professional one. I have an inside location with a concrete floor that could serve as a temporary canning kitchen and not have the heat and steam inside the house. I would love to fix an area that is perfect for canning, but I'm not quite sure how to do it. The building is a small guest house and has both gas and electricity and I even have a fairly new electric cooktop that I could add, but I think I would rather have a gas stove. By making a few changes, I could probably fit in a small gas apartment range. Natural gas is only a few feet away and so is a 220 outlet that runs a clothes dryer. I live in an area that is prone to ice storms and loss of electrity, and when that happens, we turn on the one gas heater in our house to keep the pipes from freezing, and we move to the other quarters that have gas heat and a gas water heater. We have used the two burner stove (for cooking only) inside and lived in relative comfort but it is really designed for outside. I think I will add a sink that is easy to fill large pots with, like I have in my kitchen, but the sink with have to be small. I will never have enough counter space but can always set up a folding table as a work surface, and I have one small butcher block cabinet that is mobile. A natural gas stove would give me a 'storm backup' without having to bring in the propane cook stove. Last year most of my canning was BWB but that isn't always the case. In the next couple of months I plan to complete this space so I would love to hear your thoughts and ideas. This is a small space, but I think I would like being able to can there instead of having it all over the kitchen. Ideas?

The WetStyle f/s tub has a removable tray that sits across the tub. I like numberjunkie's idea of a shelf or ledge behind the tub for placing items and also like the idea of having the shower wall next to the tub tiled half-way up to have a space for installing a grab bar. WetStyle has an optional shelf that surrounds the tub, but I think it would make it more challenging to get in and out of the tub - would need to hop over the shelf. The drop-in tub I was initially considering was 72"x42" but that would likely not fit, so would need to be 72"x36". This weekend I looked at an open house (new construction) in my area that had a drop-in tub with a narrow space for the deck surround (see attached photo). The deck was tiled on the top and on the apron with white subway tile. I noticed that with the narrow deck space (about 2") and the tub overhang, it would be awkward to sit on the edge of the tub and swing my legs in or out of the tub. Wiithout space for a deck that is wide enough to comfortably sit on, ease of entry or exit may come down to depth of the tub and options for placement of grab bars. The Wetstyle tub is 22" deep; the drop-in tubs are generally deeper, more like 26"

What a cool find! I'd have snagged that too! Kids art projects, fav poems or quotes, old love letters or cards, cartoons that tickle your funny bone, seed packets with pretty pictures, favorite recipes, news paper clippings that have special meaning for you, gosh I could go on and on, but you now better than I what has true significance to you and all could be fun to put in something like that! You could use a matt for a more formal look, or fabric, construction paper, aluminum foil, or whatever fits your theme. You could use several of each item if they're smaller to make a montage in each frame... I'd be playing with it to see what fits my decor and just let the imagination direct me.

I think my criteria is: A front vent so it does not have to be out from wall four to six inches, dual zones for red and whites, and, one that takes larger bottles not just the average size. I have had some bottles of red that are a bit thicker than norm. On my list to check are:Newair 46 bottle, Danby 50 bottle, Vinotemp 52 bottle and Allavino 42 bottle...so far! I hope not to go much over $1,000. Originally I was looking in the four to six hundred range but got discouraged. With most all those cheaper ones it's not recommended to keep wine for over a year. Not that spending a tic more will really allow for a proper wine aging collection. That sort of storage is out of my spending world. Still, I would like to buy a little more time (?). Or, it's possible after more research I will find that in my range that little tic higher in price from $600 to $1200 will make no difference at all on quality.
