Free standing photo screen

I was at a thrift store yesterday and bought a free standing divider screen... it has 3 sections & each holds 5 (8x10) pictures. So I can hold 15 photo's all together- either 8x10 or adding mats I could use different sizes as well.

Has anyone ever seperated the sections and used these somehow to frame pictures on a tall wall? Like I wondered what it would be like if I took the hinges off the screen and added some sort of nice chain or holders and attached them side by side on a large wall? Any thoughts on this???

I need some ideas to use this- it was just too cool to leave there :)

What a cool find! I'd have snagged that too!

Kids art projects, fav poems or quotes, old love letters or cards, cartoons that tickle your funny bone, seed packets with pretty pictures, favorite recipes, news paper clippings that have special meaning for you, gosh I could go on and on, but you now better than I what has true significance to you and all could be fun to put in something like that!

You could use a matt for a more formal look, or fabric, construction paper, aluminum foil, or whatever fits your theme. You could use several of each item if they're smaller to make a montage in each frame...

I'd be playing with it to see what fits my decor and just let the imagination direct me.

I actually found one of these curbside and brought it home. I ended up giving it to my sister and we had to take it apart to get it in her van. The hinges were easy to remove. I think it would be cool to hang two of the pieces horizonally on a tall wall. You could use the third piece vertically somewhere else. With ours, we ended up putting it back together and putting old lace curtains in the openings. I think she's done with it now, so maybe I should get that back and repurpose it!

I've seen photos of free standing bathouses (they look a little like a ski chalet, with very angled shingled roofs). I'm interested in finding plans for a structure like this, but can't seem to find one :( Its really more like a shed with a VERY angled roof. Anyone know of a link or book where I can find something like this? TIA!!! PS I made a smaller (medium sized) traditional bat house, I got the plans from Bat Conservation International and I seem to have tenants! But I'm hoping to get bats to migrate to the bathouse from our barn before we start construction on the roof. (the bathouse can be temporary housing, I just don't want them to leave!!!)

oh, i see, i'd love to see a photo i can see it in my mind, but i'm wondering if i'm seeing it right, a picture would help see, heres the thing they have an open concept type home, its basically one big rectangle, with one wet wall, the kitchen and bath sinks back up to eachother and thats the only wall the kids bedroom uses the one wall from the bath, and their (the grown-ups) room has these cool shoji type screens for privacy i can see maby having some ivy spilling over the top of the celing of the bath, go for a "hanging garden" type look that might be really cool i can also see the potential for dust and periodic cleaning up there, but the effect might be really interesting thanks for the idea, i'll pass it along tesa

Ritu Ganghi, we wound up getting a sub zero built in for nearly $12,000!!! the option was this or to rennovate kitchen to accomodate a free standing fridge. There would not have been room to walk in our kitchen due to cabinet and center island placement with a free standing fridge. We figured a kitchen reno would be triple the cost of the sub zero, so we went for it. i have to say, we really love it!

I gave you one, just above. And below None of these provide adequate standing room to be used as a shower. I would deem any rather un safe for that purpose. The second pic u posted has been jury rigged, using a bit of solid surface...........and probably silicone. My guess is the other has a trimmed wall furred out to meet the wish list.......... Just saying, several folks have advised and of course it is YOUR bath. It's the internet and an open forum.You can expect extra opinion you may not want. : )
