free standing built in fridge
Comments (1)A refrigerator is either a built in, as in it MUST have cabinet sides and sit on a cabinet, or a free standing as in it sits on it's own little roller feet and can be rolled in and out to clean behind. You can have a paneled front freestanding one, but putting panels on it doesn't make it look built in. It's like those houses which only brick the front. It doesn't fool anyone at all that it's a brick house. Even some "built in" ones aren't fully integrated looking, which is what most people think of when they think of a built in refrigerator. A very common situation these days is just putting side panels on a regular old stainless steel freestanding fridge. For most people, unless you're doing a 100K kitchen, that's a fine look....See Moreremodeling, replacing garden bath... heated tub or free standing?
Comments (1)I love a hot bath-- but I am not sure I see the value of Hotsoak. Adding additional hot water from the tap seems simpler, faster and vastly cheaper. I have a jetted tub that I use regularly and it has an inline heater. But, I also use this tub for quiet jet free soaking and find that the water stays hot for longer than in my previous tubs. My contractor spray insulated the tub underside before dropping it in. You may find adding underside insulation to your new tub solves the cooling off too quickly issue....See MoreFree Standing Fridge with NO cabinetry around it?
Comments (8)I think if it looks cool on all sides, it could be good. Our original kitchen design called for our refrigerator to stand alone. We would have had a cabinetry built around it, but I didn't think it would look so great. But that was the only space for a decent-sized refrigerator. We ended up getting separate freezer and fridge towers from Thermador so we could fit the fridge and freezer in another part of the kitchen. Boy are those expensive! I'd be curious to see pictures of stand-alone fridges....See MoreSearching for the perfect dual-compressor free-standing fridge
Comments (9)Sorry I didn't read your first post carefully... now I see you are OK with dual evaporators as well. Those aren't too hard to find with freestanding fridges. Dual compressors, however, will be a rarity unless you step up to a built-in. Samsung has dual evaporators on a bunch of models other than the Chef collection you mentioned. GE has dual evaporators on all their 36" french door models, not just Monogram. I have had the new Profile since 2012 when they came out (although not counter depth) and it's been great....See MoreSammy
